I believe that every person has the right to feel joy in life. We are faced with challenges as we navigate our way. With support and guidance, we can work together to ensure you can experience the happiness you deserve.
I have worked 20+ years in the field of hospice care and bereavement with children, teens and adults, teens in residential treatment, sports psychology, and trauma therapy.
My therapeutic approach is strengths-based. I work with my clients to identify skills and assets and emphasize and refine them over time. Collaboratively, we look for new methods of coping and healing.
The lens I use in practice is a systems approach. Whether it is people, nature, or our minds, we draw strength from what surrounds us. I believe that our environments–both within and without–shape who we are, and I endeavor to help my clients nurture and grow relationships with others in order to obtain a sense of belonging and community.
As a result of multiple recent deaths by suicide in our mountain community, I co-founded a nonprofit called Resilience1220.org to provide free therapy to youth 12-20 in the area. The program has offered over 10,000 hours of free therapy since May of 2019. I was Executive Director for 4 years, and I have the pleasure of seeing Resilience1220 make an incredibly positive impact on the community.
I was raised in Evergreen, CO and still live here with my husband, and two dogs. We have raised our three children in Evergreen. I love all outdoor activities, reading, and traveling.
